At The Word Church, one of our foundational Bedrocks is Holistic Improvement. To become all that God has called us to be, it’s important to do the work — spiritually, emotionally, and physically. As our foundational creeds' states,
“We do the work. We love the routine. We duplicate ourselves. We are lifelong learners.”
This program helps you live that creed out loud. Discipleship and holistic improvement are central to the heart of Pastor and Lady Vernon, who are deeply committed to the full development of the sons and daughters of this ministry.
When God calls you to new levels, it requires new levels of discipline. Discipleship is where that transformation begins.

NEXT LEVEL DISCIPLESHIP
The Next Level Discipleship Program is a focused three-month spiritual growth journey that launches you into Track 1 of our larger discipleship pathway.
You’ll begin by building the spiritual disciplines that sustain a life of purpose and power. Participants who complete this first track will be eligible to continue into Track 2 and Track 3 as future cycles open.
TRACK ONE
Based on the books by R. Kent Hughes and Barbara Hughes
Develop the inner life that supports your outer calling. Through weekly gatherings, gender-specific breakout sessions, and guided mentorship, you’ll grow in the essential disciplines of devotion, prayer, purity, integrity, friendship, and worship.
You’ll also gain practical tools for discovering your spiritual gifts and personal design through our Discovery & Design experience.
Where This Journey Leads
This first track is part of a three-part discipleship and leadership pathway:
ONE
Focus: Disciplines of a Godly Man & Woman.
Outcome: Build habits that sustain spiritual life.
TWO
Focus: Emotionally Healthy Discipleship.
Outcome: Experience healing and emotional maturity.
THREE
Focus: Leadership Development
Outcome: Lead with excellence from the inside out
Only Track 1 applications are open at this time.
Upon Completion
Graduates of Track 1 will be recognized as official Men or Women of the Word and honored with a special experience to commemorate their journey.
