The Word Church General Adult Ministries are those ministry offerings that focus on equipping the body of Christ through the ministry of helps and volunteering. The pre-requisite for participation in any of our ministries is completion of the Pathway to Purpose classes.

The admin ministry is for those members who have a heart to operate in decency and order, are strong communicators and can handle daily, detailed tasks with professionalism and accuracy.
While providing our members with current and helpful information, through a Christ like humble and helpful spirit, we offer the love and example of Christ through a service of sacrifice and assistance.

Guidance Assistance Support Empowerment.
DEPARTMENT OF ASSIMILATION
- Purpose
Document and maintain member contact information, P2P attendance, progress and completion records.
- Method
Weekly assignments distributed for timely and accurate data entry. Data is entered into an electronic database on site.
- Ministry Meetings
Every 2nd Thursday at 6:30pm in the Kingdom Building.
- Talents
Trustworthy, self-starter, word processing, fluent in MS Word/Excel.
- Purpose
To provide superior catering services and organize banquet set up for designated special events.
- Method
Collaboratively develop menus and plan for special events. A coordinated and recognizable dress code is followed for special events.
- Ministry Meetings
Quarterly on the 4th Saturday of the month at 11:30am.
- Talents
Personable, service-oriented, genuine smile, teachable spirit.
- Purpose
Routine phone contact with new members shortly after salvation and membership to offer reassurance, answer question and provide encouragement toward their pathway to purpose and spiritual growth.
- Method
Weekly phone contact with new members in a 4-week cycle using the New Member Care Call Guide. Calls are made in the call center or from home.
- Ministry Meetings
Every 3rd Thursday at 6:45m in the Kingdom building.
- Talents
Care, communication and administrative support.
- Purpose
Routine communication with members who have begun the P2P course, to inspire faithful attendance in in all classes and foster graduation from the course.
- Method
Weekly phone contact with members who have started the P2P course. Communication is maintained with members to assist, reassure and build confidence toward regular attendance and graduation.
- Ministry Meetings
Every 2nd Tuesday at 6:30pm in the Kingdom Building.
- Talents
Enthusiasm, humility, encouraging and helpful spirit.
- Purpose
To serve and assist with the safe transition of baptism candidates though baptism.
- Method
Assist with the assimilation into ministry though follow-up and support in partnership with P2P.
- Ministry Meetings
Every 2nd Sunday at 3:30pm in the Kingdom Building.
- Talents
Loving spirit, humility, communication, and administrative support.
GENERAL ADULT MINISTRIES
- Purpose
Assist with any emergency situation during church events. Educate and provide screenings to the community
- Method
Provide reading materials and pamphlets, medical attention and knowledge to patrons at the CARES stations.
- Ministry Meetings
Every 4th Saturday of each month at 10am in room 206 of the Kingdom Building.
- Talents
Faithfulness, dedication, commitment, CPR certified. (Doesn’t have to be medical staff)
- Purpose
To provide guests of the church with answers to questions relating to services, activates, ministries, events and calendars.
- Method
Maintain knowledge of current information regarding activities, classes, services, and schedules offered at the church. Provide customer focused support to all, with a humble welcoming, helpful spirit in answering questions, supporting events and providing information.
- Ministry Meetings
Every 2nd Thursday at 7pm in the Kingdom Building.
- Talents
Pleasant, good listener, effective communicator, patience.
- Purpose
To exhibit the love of Christ to all who enter the doors of the church, and extend the experience into the sanctuary.
- Method
Greeters welcome patrons to the church with open arms, smiles and hugs. Ushers continue the signature affect by attending to orderly entrance and exit of persons in the church.
- Ministry Meetings
Orientation is held every 3rd Saturday from 10am to noon in the main sanctuary. Ministry meeting are held every 3rd Friday at 7pm in the main sanctuary.
- Talents
Enthusiastic, good-natured, faithful, kind and teachable spirit.
- Purpose
Show the love of God by welcoming and guiding all who enters the church with love and warmth to uplift their spirits.
- Method
Greet and guide members and visitors as they enter the lot as well as assisting patrons needing help entering and exiting vehicles.
- Ministry Meetings
3rd Saturday of each month at 10am unless otherwise stated.
- Talents
Prayerful, selflessness, clear communication, focused, and discernment.
- Purpose
To ensure saints are transported in a safe and timely manner. To maintain integrity and influence for the ministry as well as the saints.
- Method
Make sure vehicles are fully equipped with everything needed. Ensure that all drivers are in good spirits and ready for work. Transport saints before and after church.
- Ministry Meetings
4th Saturday of each month in the Kingdom Building.
- Talents
Customer service skills, willingness to be obedient to God’s word.
COUNSELING & SMALL GROUPS DEPARTMENT
DEPARTMENT OF OUTREACH
“…that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” Romans 15:4
Purpose – “To offer Hope to justice involved citizens in Ohio, their families and their children”
Method
- In-Prison Program Team – 40-week Curriculum comprised of Kingdom-based values and principles. Delivered in Round table methodology where each person is given equal right to participate. The aim is provide hope through scripture, as well as, to help Ohio prisoners function effectively, with integrity and character in their current environment. (Certificate Program)
- Bible Instructor/ Mentor Team – Each member is required to mentor a prisoner. Training is provided to develop Christ-centered relationships with prisoners around the country so that lives are restored through the gospel.
- Reentry Team – Our Bible instructors receive and grade weekly bible lessons from prisoners around the country and write a letter of encouragement and discipleship.
- Family Support Team – Monthly family gatherings with guest speakers and resources for families of incarcerated that offer a safe and welcoming environment where families feel comfortable and accepted without judgment. These monthly times of spiritual refreshment allow families to rest in the Lord, and feel safe to have their own spiritual needs met, enjoy fellowship and light refreshments. This team also sponsors the annual Angel Tree Christmas.
Note: All In-prison program facilitators will complete the 3-hr O.D.R.C. volunteer training. Background checks required.

EXT. 1156
- Purpose
Serve as a resource for the members of the church and community.
- Method
Provide information for housing, education, jobs, food, social services, shelter and utilities to the community, at large.
- Ministry Meetings
1st Thursdays of each month at 6:45pm in Victory Hall of the Kingdom Building.
- Talents
Have a heart to serve, and a burden to help people. Being cheerful, selfless and encouraging. Having a desire to give time and the ability to be active and constantly moving.
- Purpose
To provide an outlet for members ages 55 and older to fellowship; ministry opportunities of imparting to the youth and assisting grieving families during repasts.
- Method
Routine contact and camaraderie amongst ministry members. Shared support to grieving families, during repasts. Participate in special projects.
- Ministry Meetings
Every 2nd Wednesday September through June after Noonday Bible Study in Fireside Chapel.
- Talents
Wisdom, compassion and supportive spirit.
- Purpose
Take the church outside the four walls in order to seek lost souls for Christ. Our message is that Jesus is mankind’s only way to God.
- Method
Build relationships through love, we ask for salvation through the use of salvation tracks, flyers, dvds and provisions.
- Ministry Meetings
2nd Tuesday of each month at 7pm.
- Talents
Love all types of people, an infinity for people, prayer & outgoing.
PERFORMING ARTS MINISTRY
- Purpose
Provide an additional medium to reach the lost, and encourage the believer through the illumination of the sermons.
- Method
Production of theatrical dance, skits, video, plays and films during services and events.
- Ministry Meetings
Sundays at 3:30pm
- Talents
Strong desire and eagerness to share talents. Ability to write, a love for acting, lighting design, stagecraft, production and directing.

- Purpose
To glorify God through song and create an atmosphere that evokes focus towards praise, worship and spiritual release.
- Method
Unified delivery of song, under the direction of the choir director or song leader, with a collective effort to genuinely honor God in chorus.
- Ministry Meetings
Every Tuesday at 7:15pm in the main sanctuary. Auditions held following rehearsals at approx. 8:30pm.
- Talents
Vocally gifted, disciplined, responsible, teachable spirit and godly lifestyle.
- Purpose
Influence and assist attendees of the services into the presence of God, through praise, worship and interpretive dance.
- Method
Channeling the Holy Spirit though consistent prayer; always seeking and asking God to make His presence known though their body movements.
- Ministry Meetings
Tuesdays at 7pm.
- Talents
Rhythmic mobility, prayerful, submitted, dedicated.
