MEET DR. R.A. VERNON

Dr. R. A. Vernon is the founder and senior pastor of The Word Church, a multi-site ministry with 34,000+ members between four locations. A respected spiritual leader, philanthropist, and humanitarian, he is dedicated to creating and providing programs, resources, and services to help the less fortunate. He is resolutely committed to unconditional outreach, and leads the culturally diverse congregation of The Word Church with integrity and excellence.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Feel free to wear whatever you like as long as it’s respectful. The women of The Word never wear anything tight or short to church because they are “Kingdom Women.” Under no circumstances do we wear shorts to church unless we are participating in gymnasium activities.
We offer Wednesday Bible Study, called Believers Service, at each of our locations. They are designed for Christians to grow stronger in their walk with the Lord. Dr. Vernon believes that all serious Saints will attend Wednesday Believer’s services at the time and location of their choice.
During our time of Praise and Worship, those who are physically able, should stand in honor of God, He’s worthy! Open your mind and heart to the singing done by the Choir and/or Praise Team and join in by singing, clapping your hands or lifting your hands in worship! Allow yourself to be moved by the spirit in your own way…He IS worthy!
We embrace “order and excellence” and ALWAYS start all services, at all locations, on time.
In honor of God and to focus on the preached word, no food or drink should ever be brought into the sanctuary. Once the formal service has begun, if you must leave the sanctuary, for any reason, you will not be permitted to return to your seat if you were seated within the first 18 rows from the Altar. We try to eliminate all distractions once the preached word is going forth
Kingdom Kids University (KKU) is our nursery and children’s church available at all locations. We have a full-time Youth Pastor and age appropriate programs to keep your children occupied in a Christian environment during church service. You are encouraged to take your children to those areas when you arrive for service. Note: If you decide to keep your children with you in service instead of KKU, then you will be asked to sit in the rear of the sanctuary. If the child becomes noisy or fussy, please exit quickly to attend to your child, so that no one misses the word.
We do not have a prescheduled time period for serving communion. We are led by the Spirit, not tradition. Communion is served as our Pastor is led.

Each Wednesday our altar (Warrensville Campus) is open for public prayer at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
DVD’s and CD’s are available after each service and can also be ordered online here  ~ Take advantage of it!
